CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
for the appointment of
1. Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Management
1.1. Appointment of one (1) employee to the position of Senior Research Assistant, as an associate position in the scientific area of Biomedicine and Health Sciences, scientific field of Clinical Medical Sciences, for a fixed term and on a part-time basis, at 10% of full-time working hours, at the Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Management of the Faculty of Medicine Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.
Candidates applying for the position of Senior Research Assistant must meet the general requirements prescribed by the Labour Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22 and 64/23), as well as the specific requirements prescribed by Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (“Official Gazette” No. 119/22), Article 123, paragraph 5 of the Statutes of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Article 58, paragraph 5 of the Statutes of the Faculty of Medicine Osijek, consolidated text, and Article 29 of the Ordinance on the Implementation of the Procedure for the Appointment/Reappointment to Scientific-Teaching, Artistic-Teaching, Teaching, Associate and Professional Positions at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.

Candidates applying for the position of Senior Research Assistant (item 1.1.) shall submit their application using Application Form No. 5, published on the website www.mefos.unios.hr.
The application forms are available on the website of the Faculty of Medicine Osijek, www.mefos.unios.hr (Documents – Appointment of Teaching Staff and Associates – Forms for Appointments).
The application form must specify the item of the Call for Applications and the position for which the candidate is applying.
Candidates applying for the position of Senior Research Assistant who meet the formal requirements of the Call for Applications and who have submitted all required documentation with their application must attend an interview before the Committee for the purpose of additional assessment of their knowledge and motivation. Candidates will be notified by e-mail by the Faculty of Medicine Osijek of the place and time of the interview.
All information concerning the course of the appointment procedure will be published on the website of the Faculty of Medicine Osijek, www.mefos.unios.hr. Candidates who fail to attend the interview before the Committee shall be deemed to have withdrawn their application and shall not be considered candidates in the selection procedure.
Foreign nationals applying for the position are required to submit proof of their knowledge of the Croatian language at an advanced level (C2), in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Candidates who, pursuant to special regulations—the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (“Official Gazette” Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23), Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (“Official Gazette” Nos. 84/21 and 13/26), Article 48f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (“Official Gazette” Nos. 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), and Article 9 of the Act on Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (“Official Gazette” Nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20)—invoke their right to priority in employment, must explicitly invoke this right in their application and submit all evidence required under the applicable special regulations for exercising such right. Such candidates shall have priority in employment over other candidates only under equal conditions.
For candidates who invoke their right to priority in employment pursuant to the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (“Official Gazette” Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23) and the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (“Official Gazette” Nos. 84/21 and 13/26), the list of documents required for exercising this right is available on the website of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans: https://branitelji.gov.hr/zaposljavanje-843/843.
Candidates who invoke their right to priority in employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Act on Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (“Official Gazette” Nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20) are required, in their application, to invoke this right and submit all evidence demonstrating that they meet the required conditions, as well as proof of disability.
Persons of both sexes may apply under equal conditions.
Only candidates who submit a timely and complete application and meet the formal requirements of the Call for Applications shall be considered applicants.
An application shall be deemed complete if it contains all information and documents specified in this Call for Applications and is personally signed by the candidate submitting the application.
Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
By submitting an application, the candidate gives consent to the collection and processing of all personal data contained in the application documentation for the purpose of conducting the selection procedure, in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
Candidates are required to submit, together with their application, a completed and signed Consent Form for the Collection and Processing of Personal Data for the Purpose of Conducting the Selection Procedure. The Consent Form is published together with the Call for Applications on the website of the Faculty of Medicine Osijek, www.mefos.unios.hr. An application submitted without a duly completed and signed Consent Form shall be deemed incomplete and will not be considered.
All candidates will be notified of the results of the Call for Applications no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of completion of the procedure. The Faculty of Medicine Osijek reserves the right to notify all applicants by e-mail as well.
The application documentation and evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the requirements shall be submitted electronically to medicina@mefos.hr, with the subject line: “Application for the Call for Applications under item ___”, within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of the Call for Applications.
