At UNSW, we pride ourselves on being a workplace where the best people come to do their best work.
The Senior Research Associate (Level B) is expected to carry out independent and/or team research related to equity, diversity, and/or inclusion in STEM and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to their particular field of research. This role involves conducting research scoped as part of the Future You program. Research activities are primarily to involve systematic review and/or meta-analysis activities, but may also include empirical research evaluating the impact of the program on key audiences. This work is guided by, and will inform refinement of, a Theory of Change that underpins program design and evaluation.
The Future You program aims to shift perceptions about who belongs in STEM education and careers among all students aged 8 – 12 years, their teachers, and their parents and carers via two core objectives: 1: Inspire girls and children from other underrepresented backgrounds and identities to pursue STEM careers by challenging stereotypes and communicating that STEM is for everyone; and 2: Raise awareness of the range of exciting STEM skilled career opportunities available by providing real life examples of people working in STEM careers, and showing the different career pathways students can take.
