Overview
The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine is an academic department within the Tufts University School of Medicine located on the Health Sciences Campus in Boston. Technical and academic assets within the department provide a strong research support system for federally-funded research. Its faculty members hold advanced degrees in epidemiology, biostatistics, sociology, anthropology, law, medicine, nutrition, biology, engineering, health policy, economics, social policy, education, social work, and the behavioral sciences. Department research includes a focus on the following thematic areas: health equity, substance use disorders, health communication, nutrition and infection, infectious disease epidemiology, health policy and health care delivery, environmental health, the opioid epidemic, and global health. Department faculty are methodologically strong and diverse, with expertise in biostatistics, survey research, program evaluation, qualitative methods, dietary assessment and spatial epidemiological analysis.

This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.
This Senior Research Coordinator position will support the Principal Investigator on projects focused on understanding the implications of nonadherence to tuberculosis (TB) medications on outcomes for people living with TB globally. Most of the Senior Research Coordinator's time will be spent working on starting implementation of a large study evaluating novel approaches for measuring adherence to TB medications, in collaboration with international collaborators.
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Senior Research Coordinator will be responsible for updating and reconciling IRB-related paperwork, using RedCap or other software to develop a data entry platform, and managing other regulatory paperwork for the study. The Senior Research Coordinator will also contribute to development of a study protocol manuscript for public posting. They will be responsible for coordinating routine activities for the study, including data maintenance, scheduling meetings with international collaborators, and maintaining other routine communications. Relevant skills include strong knowledge of use of Excel for data management, prior use of data entry platforms such as RedCap or EpiCollect, and good writing and communication skills. The Senior Research Coordinator will have the opportunity to contribute to manuscripts in development from related projects focused on tuberculosis medication adherence and treatment outcomes.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years’ experience in a clinical research setting
- Experience with Excel and strong writing skills are mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MPH or MSc in a public health field, especially global health, is preferred.
- Prior experience in TB research is preferred.
- Given that study interactions will take place with international teams, including teams in India, knowledge of Tamil or other Indian languages may be helpful though not mandatory
Pay Range
Minimum $24.70, Midpoint $29.50, Maximum $34.20
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
