Senior Research Fellow

Job Description:

Employment Type: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Duration: 12 months fixed term

Remuneration: $150 K - $172 K (based on experience) + 17% superannuation + leave loading

Location: Randwick, New South Wales

Why this role matters:

The Senior Research Fellow role involves conducting independent, high-impact research, building a nationally recognized research profile, and developing specialist research groups.

The position requires securing competitive research funding, establishing national research networks, and mentoring students and colleagues. Candidates should have an expertise in cutaneous toxicities of immunotherapy. Strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential, along with a commitment to professional development, ethical conduct, and workplace health and safety.

The position will report to the Associate Professor and has no direct reports.

Skills Required:

  • A PhD in epidemiology, and/or relevant work experience with medical qualification and specialist qualification in dermatology (FACD or international equivalent)
  • Experience in management of cutaneous toxicities of immunotherapy.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
