Organization Profile: The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Job Title: Senior Research Fellow

Department: School of Applied & Interdisciplinary Sciences under the supervision of Professor Somobrata Acharya

Essential qualification: (a) Candidates should have M.Sc. degree in Chemistry with 55% marks both in B.Sc.(Hons.) and M.Sc. examination along with a good overall academic record. (b) Candidates with NET/GATE qualification will be preferred.

Desirable Qualifications: Research experience in nanomaterials synthesis

Fellowship: As per rules

Nationality: The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Duration: 2 years or completion of the research work, whichever is earlier.

Selection Procedure: Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of merit. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email and called for an interview for the final selection. The position is purely temporary and a candidate will not have any right to claim (explicit or implicit) to any post in the institute. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview.
