Senior Research Finance Advisor

As a Senior Research Finance Advisor, you'll have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of complex funding programs and serve as the primary financial contact for Chief Investigators. You'll support leading academics in managing financial resources and navigating intricate funding rules. Your role will involve implementing process improvements and system changes to enhance efficiency and customer service in research finance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Complex Research Funding: Oversee financial aspects of various projects within your portfolio, supporting academics in budget development and management.
  • Provide Strategic Financial Advice: Maintain key relationships with senior Faculty stakeholders, offering expert guidance on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Contribute to mapping, reviewing, and reengineering processes to maximise the impact of finance-related support to the academy.
  • Mentor and Develop Team: Train, mentor, and potentially supervise junior staff, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced finance professional with excellent communication skills, strong financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex funding arrangements while providing strategic advice to senior academics.

You may also:

  • Have a relevant tertiary degree in a business-related discipline with significant on-the-job experience.
  • Possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in evolving work environments.
  • Have experience in process mapping, review, and reengineering.
  • Excel in relationship management, especially with senior stakeholders.
