"Senior Research Scientist"

The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications from individuals to be appointed as a SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST. The position will be based at NYU Abu Dhabi and supervised by Claude Desplan.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Molecular Biology with at least 10 years of relevant experience in their field (not including the years obtaining the PhD or equivalent terminal degree) along with extensive research and publication in well-known journals and conference papers or similar research accomplishments. The ideal candidate will be part of an exciting project developing new, environmentally friendly control options for the red palm weevil, a pest of date palms. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing genetic tools for the control of the red palm weevil. For this purpose, experience with CRISPR/Cas9, genomic and molecular techniques is very important.
