Institute for Forecasting was founded in 1989 as one of the research organisations of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Since 2015, the Institute for Forecasting of the Slovak Academy of Sciences has been a part of the Centre of Social and Psychological Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

PhD Economics or in related field
At least 3 years of research experience
Excellent publication record, and research publications relevant at an international level.
Specific Requirements
- Ability to conduct excellent research, including quantitative econometric/statistical analyses applied to economics and the social sciences
- A sustained, high-quality record of international publications, documented by a list of publications
- Ability to publish and present research results in English
- Ability to develop new project proposals aimed at excellent basic and applied research in economics or a related field
- Ability and willingness to build and lead international research teams
- Interest in contributing to the internationalisation of the organisation
- Interest in contributing thematically to projects carried out at the institute is an advantage
- Previous experience with international grant schemes is welcome

Benefits
Gross salary from € 950 per month for part time (50%) position + reward bonus (depending on achievement).
Non-monetary benefits include a psychologically safe and supportive work environment and 45 days of paid vacation.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics or a related field and demonstrate strong conceptual and statistical skills
Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken, is required
Excellent knowledge of Slovak or Czech, written and spoken, is welcome
Selection process
The Selection committee (3 members at minimum) will identify applicants based on assessment of apllicants' information (cvs, or other provided documents). Selected applicants will be invited for an interview, which will take place between October 23 and October 29, 2026, online.
