Job Description
OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center is Oklahoma's only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Cancer Center, and one of only 73 NCI-Designated Cancer Centers in the United States. At the Stephenson Cancer Center, we have an exciting new job opportunity that could be right for you! The Sr. Researcher originates, plans and conducts research in areas related to project needs or in a designated field of science and may supervise personnel.
Duties:
- Initiates, plans, and directs field studies.
- Assists in budget development and administration. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Anticipates research issues and promptly resolves them.
- Teaches one or more classes or seminars.
- Writes proposals, delivers presentations and prepares research for publication.
- Supervises the preparation, identification, and cataloging of information and specimens.
- Interprets research specifications and develops a work plan that satisfies requirements.
- May supervise staff, including training, and delegating and overseeing work.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education:
Master's degree in related field, AND:
- 12 months related research experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 72 months of related experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 84 months of related experience.
Certifications or Licenses:
None
Skills:
- Technical writing skills
- Ability to communicate well and to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of specialized terminology (e.g., scientific or technical)
Working Conditions:
Physical:
- Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
Environmental:
- Ability to work in carried settings and locations as determined by research goals.
- May be required to travel.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents.
Department Preferences:
- Experience in invitro and in vivo immunological and molecular tools to study in bread cancer research.
- Experience with multispectral flow cytometry, immune cell sorting, ELISA, 2D cell culture, western blots, PCR, q-RTPCR, primer design, CRISPR guide design, restriction enzyme digests, cloning plasmids, colony management, breeding, infections (IP, IV, etc.), all type of mice handling, Gibson assembly cloning, and confocal microscopy
