Responsibilities
The Senior Social Media Manager is part of a collaborative communications team and supports the management, operation, and coordination of cross-channel social media content, campaigns, and projects to increase overall engagement and awareness of the College of Arts and Sciences and its associated units. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, provides the voice of the College across various social media platforms and establishes, manages, and operates a deep portfolio of accounts for college academic departments, programs, institutes, and centers.
- Ongoing social media planning, monitoring, implementation, and maintenance across a growing social media portfolio encompassing multiple profiles for each of the college's departments, programs, and institutes.
- Planning, pitching, developing, designing, and deploying original social media content and campaigns and ensuring channels are updated regularly and that the accounts are interacting with and responding to followers in a timely manner.
- Conducting research and developing strategy for successful launch and sustained growth with awareness of the specific audiences associated with each channel.
- Ensuring all content produced and posted adheres to College and FSU brand standards and messaging protocols.
- Independently coordinating the tracking of all social media projects on the team to ensure projects are executed and delivered in a timely manner and to the desired specifications.
- Delivering weekly and monthly social media analytics reports to assistant director and director and identifying specific strategies for improving performance metrics across platforms, including engagement, impressions, audience, and reach.
- Coordinating coverage of various events to ensure capture of visual assets and perspective for College and unit social media postings.
- Collaborating with units and other College partners and FSU communicators to plan, develop, and implement social media projects that support the College's integrated marketing and communications strategy.
- Cultivating and enhancing relationships and opportunities with external social media partners to support the College's social media strategy.
- Leading monthly group meetings with the college's unit social media liaisons to disseminate best practices and conducts onboarding training for new social media liaisons.
- Writing and editing content for use on the college's marketing and communications channels that reach internal faculty, staff, and student audiences; external members of the FSU alumni community; prospective students; legislators; industry partners and members of the general public.
- Liaising with FSU University Communications social media managers on strategic and crisis issues.
- Serving as part of the CoAS front-line team responding to after-hours social media concerns.
- Responding to direct messages on all managed accounts.
- Routinely monitoring social channels for issues and reputational concerns that may impact the College, its units, and FSU, and routes for awareness and action as appropriate.
- Amplifying FSU Alerts to ensure maximum dissemination.
- May supervise supplemental OPS staff on social media projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position will be in the high 40ks to mid-50ks, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
