Senior Social News Producer
About the Opportunity
Job Summary
Northeastern University is looking for an experienced video producer for its daily social-first news and storytelling content for TikTok, Instagram, and other vertical video platforms. The Sr. Social News Producer is responsible for creating high-impact multimedia content focused on news, information, and entertainment that is geared toward various audiences and promotes Northeastern University's brand and academic mission. The role involves conceptualizing, shooting, and editing fast-turnaround content that showcases breaking news stories and university news in real time.
The Senior Social News Producer regularly appears on camera as part of a rotating team, and also brings the technical range to shoot longer-form content as needed, including podcast-style interviews and executive-level video projects. This is a hands-on production role, not a supervisory one.
The role reports to the Creative Director for Social Video and part of the Communications division. The position is based on the Boston campus and is fully on site, five days a week. As is the case for all members of the Communications team, after-hours work, including evenings and weekends is often required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years shooting and editing in a professional environment, with a strong portfolio of vertical, social-first video, including news content.
