Within Technology Services, our five dynamic work units, Data, Architecture & Integration, Cyber Resilience, Digital Delivery & Innovation, Technology Platforms, and Operations & Services, collaborate to deliver high-impact solutions across the University.
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions that support critical university systems. Reporting to the Software & Integration Development Principal, you will play a key role in shaping technical approaches, mentoring developers and building scalable solutions across enterprise platforms.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact systems used across the entire University, while contributing to emerging initiatives including the adoption of AI and modern cloud technologies. You will help strengthen engineering practices, influence technical direction and deliver solutions that enable the University’s digital transformation.
You will make an impact by:
- Leading the design and development of complex software solutions across university systems
- Delivering innovative solutions using .NET, Azure, and modern cloud development practices
- Integrating enterprise platforms such as TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Blackboard
- Mentoring developers and contributing to strong engineering standards and technical clarity
- Exploring and implementing AI-driven capabilities within enterprise software solutions
What you will bring
You are an experienced and technically strong software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing how modern software is built. You bring a balance of hands-on development expertise and technical leadership, and you enjoy mentoring others while improving engineering practices.
You thrive in complex environments integrating multiple systems and are excited by opportunities to apply emerging technologies, including AI and modern cloud architectures, to deliver meaningful improvements for users.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar with ideally 5+ years software development experience
- Proficient with enterprise reporting and data tools (Crystal Reports, Oracle SQL)
- Experience delivering AI-powered features in production, such as LLMs, RAG, Semantic search, copilots
- Cloud development experience, ideally with Microsoft Azure
- Demonstrated experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives
It’s not essential, but we’d love it if you had experience with enterprise platforms such as TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Blackboard or Microsoft Teams, or experience working in higher education or other complex enterprise environments.

Your opportunity is:
- Full-time, continuing (permanent)
- Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Relocation Assistance, making it easier to join our regional communities
- HEW Level 8. The base salary ranges from $120,756 - $133,154 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $155,790.
