Student Life
The Student Life Directorate delivers services and evidence-based programs for current students that aims to contribute to improved health and wellbeing; as well as supporting students to succeed in their higher education studies. The Directorate has three major teams focused on (1) Health and Wellbeing; (2) Students course advice, course progress and success; and (3) Student Experience and Student Voice. The Directorate focuses on taking a person-centred approach when engaging with students; collaboration across Schools and Directorates and continuous quality improvement to make a transformational and meaningful impact on students experience at University.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Coordinator, Student Hub this senior role is responsible for effectively providing a broad range of customer focused, student advice to all ECU students and school support operations.
The Senior Student Adviser also acts as an escalation point for Student Advisers for the more complex student enquiries and would have a broad knowledge of student administrative processes, courses, and support services. In addition, Senior Advisers support Student Hub Coordinators by leading and completing project work and on occasions acting as proxy in meetings.
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to understand needs, provide support, and build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others, coordinate activities, support team members, and share knowledge through training and guidance.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex enquiries and find practical solutions.
- Knowledge of student administration processes, support services, and systems, with the ability to communicate information clearly to different audiences.
- Commitment to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, improving processes, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
