Annual Salary Step Range: $104,748.60 - $133,688.52

Definition: Under general direction, performs complex analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation of computer applications for administrative and student systems.

Examples of Essential Functions:

• Provides technical support, analysis, and programming for the District’s systems.
• Reviews user needs and develops solutions for enhancements.
• Confers with clients to develop program specifications.
• Designs, develops, and implements application enhancements.
• Assists in developing software for relational database systems.
• Designs, develops, tests, and implements software integrations.
• Writes or modifies documentation for programs.
• Provides technical assistance and responds to inquiries.
• Trains users or technical support staff.
• Learns emerging technologies and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Knowledge of:

• Principles of supporting a diverse and inclusive environment.
• State-of-the-art information systems.
• Principles of computer systems and software architectures.
• OS-based platforms like UNIX and AIX.
• Programming languages including Pro*C, JavaScript, Oracle Forms, Shell Scripting, and PL/SQL.
• Data warehousing and ETL techniques.
• Computer languages for business applications.
• Procedures of analysis, design, and programming.
• Use and limitations of computer systems and databases.
• Modern office practices and equipment.

Education and Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally accredited four-year college in computer science or related field, plus four years of experience in a large production environment, including two years in AIX and/or Linux/UNIX.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, preferably in a minority-serving institution.
