Senior Teaching Fellow in Clinical Psychology

The School of Psychology at the University of Southampton is seeking to make a strategic appointment of a one-year fixed-term 1.0 FTE post to support education and training within our Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClin) programme.

We welcome applications from academic clinical psychologists in any area of clinical psychology, psychopathology, and/or neuroscience that will complement our basic and translational research, education, and training into mental health.

You will be part of an innovative and dynamic clinical psychology team and contribute to postgraduate teaching and supervision, working within the education pathway. Clinical psychologists with expertise in teaching clinical skills and the aspiration to support and develop future Clinical Psychologists will be joining a vibrant community of postgraduate clinical researchers and educators within the school.

The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme at the University of Southampton is committed to the scientist-practitioner model, is firmly rooted in the core values of the NHS Constitution, and has over 30 years' experience in clinical training in partnership with our local NHS Trusts and related organisations.

Our School has expertise in developmental and applied psychopathology, psychological interventions across the lifespan, and affective neuroscience (see Centre for Innovation in Mental Health). The School of Psychology at Southampton is recognised for producing world-leading, high-impact research, supported by excellent research facilities (REF2021).

Our School is one of the largest providers of postgraduate research and clinical training in the UK, offering a range of MSc programmes (Clinical, Health, Psychology), research doctorates (PhD), Doctoral Programmes in Clinical Psychology (DClin), and Educational Psychology (DEdPsy), and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
