About the Position
Bond University seeks to fill two positions in the Simulation Program at Bond University Clinical Education and Research Centre (BUCERC) at Robina Hospital facility.
The Senior Teaching Fellow conducts various simulation education activities across the Bond Medical Program's Year 3 to Year 5 curriculum.
The Simulation Program supports the transition from Year 3 pre-clinical, Bachelor of Medical Studies, to fully engage in the clinical environment as part of Years 4 and 5 in the Doctor of Medicine.
The Senior Teaching Fellow, reporting to the Director of the Bond Simulation Program, will engage, mentor, and teach a diverse student body and work closely and cohesively with other academic and professional staff.
The Senior Teaching Fellow will co-supervise MD students and new SIM fellows undertaking the Bond Simulation Fellowship Program. They will also undertake research simulation projects to expand and strengthen the Bond Simulation Program.
The Simulation program will involve activities including but not limited to the following:
- Designing and running simulation activities for medical students.
- Reviewing and updating simulation scenarios and their resources to ensure quality improvement of the simulation program.
- Designing and running professional development workshops for the simulation team and other faculty staff.
- Engaging in local, national, and international simulation events and communities.
- Supporting and building the capacity of the simulation team.
- Supporting and engaging in Simulation-based education research.
About the person
The successful applicants will hold a Bachelor of Medicine or MD qualification and have substantial clinical experience with a minimum of 5 years working in the clinical field.
They will have knowledge of and experience in contemporary medical education and simulation-based education. They must also have exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing medical students with engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
Salary details
The salary for this (0.5 FTE) position will commence at $52,199.29 per annum. (Full-time Equivalent is $104,398.58 per annum) plus 11% superannuation per annum.
