The Senior Tutor is responsible for overseeing the educational and pastoral provision for a highly talented community of 800 students at Clare. The post-holder is the key point of contact in the College for the University and external bodies on student-related matters. The Senior Tutor leads, manages and supports the College (Tutorial) Office, the Health and Wellbeing Team, and the Library and Archives. The Senior Tutor also helps to shape the College’s approach to wider matters, working alongside the Master, Bursar and other College Trustees.

Strong candidates will be academically credible within the context of the University of Cambridge. They will bring some experience of administration or management in a higher education setting, as well as an understanding of educational delivery, assessment, attainment and pedagogy. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and welfare and value close engagement with students. The role requires exceptional judgement, empathy, resilience and an ability to remain calm under pressure.
