Essential Job Duties:
The Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Services reports directly to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and serves as the university's chief enrollment officer. As a member of the Provost's senior leadership team, the Senior Vice Provost provides strategic and operational leadership for the university's enrollment enterprise and advises university leadership regarding enrollment strategy, student access and success, enrollment trends, institutional capacity, and the policies, resources, technologies, and services necessary to achieve NC State's long-term goals.
In this role, you will shape how NC State responds to a changing enrollment landscape. You will bring together academic, financial, operational, and student perspectives to anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities, navigate complex decisions, and build alignment around strategies that advance sustainable enrollment and student success. Your leadership will translate changing student demand and educational needs into action, expanding access to an NC State education, supporting student success, and advancing the university's land-grant mission.
Key Responsibilities fall within the following core functions:
Shape University Enrollment Strategy and Capacity:
- Develop and advance a comprehensive, long-term enrollment strategy aligned with NC State's strategic plan, academic priorities, land-grant mission, institutional capacity, and the educational and workforce needs of North Carolina.
- Lead university-wide enrollment planning, establishing goals and projections while assessing academic, financial, operational, technological, and student-support capacity.
- Advise university leaders on enrollment opportunities, emerging trends, institutional capacity, student demand, demographic changes, and the potential enrollment and resource implications of university policies and strategic decisions.
- Lead university-wide enrollment planning by facilitating collaborative processes to develop enrollment goals, evaluate academic and operational capacity, assess institutional readiness, and align enrollment strategies with university resources and priorities.
- Lead undergraduate enrollment strategies spanning recruitment, admission, enrollment, retention, progression, and graduation.
- Advance strategies that expand educational opportunity, reduce barriers, and strengthen student access, successful transitions, academic progress, retention, and timely degree completion.
- Lead continuous improvement of programs, services, policies, communications, and practices that shape the student enrollment experience.
- Strengthen enrollment communications and partnerships that communicate the value of an NC State education and support institutional enrollment priorities.
- Cultivate educational partnerships, including with the North Carolina Community College System, to strengthen pathways and expand opportunity.
- Provide executive leadership and fiscal stewardship for Enrollment Management and Services, aligning people, resources, technology, facilities, and operations with institutional priorities.
- Champion the strategic use of data, analytics, research, technology, and predictive modeling to inform enrollment strategy, resource planning, decision-making, and outcomes.
- Lead long-range organizational and operational planning that strengthens EMAS capacity, sustainability, innovation, and responsiveness.
- Ensure enrollment systems, policies, processes, and services are effective, coordinated, accessible, compliant, and responsive to evolving institutional and student needs.
- Build a high-performing organization grounded in professional excellence, collaboration, accountability, innovation, ethical leadership, and a shared commitment to student success and public service.
- Establish priorities, accountability structures, and collaborative processes that translate institutional strategy into coordinated action across EMAS and the university.
- Build trusted relationships with academic and administrative leaders and represent EMAS in university planning, governance, policy development, and resource allocation.
- Represent NC State with the UNC System and external educational, governmental, professional, community, alumni, and other partners to advance enrollment and student-success priorities and contribute to the field of enrollment management.

Minimum Experience/Education:
A post-baccalaureate degree and a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education are required. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Senior leadership experience in enrollment management or a closely related higher education function, with responsibility for strategy, operations, resources, and outcomes across complex programs or organizational units.
- A record of developing and implementing comprehensive enrollment strategies that align institutional priorities with student demand, educational opportunity, and measurable enrollment and student-success outcomes.
- Experience leading and advising within complex, decentralized organizations, using data and organizational insight to inform senior-level decisions, build partnerships across academic and administrative units, navigate competing priorities, and establish shared accountability for results.
- Demonstrated Ability to lead organizational change and continuous improvement, including setting strategic priorities, developing effective teams, strengthening operations, managing significant resources, and advancing organizational performance.
- Proficiency in applying data, analytics, research, technology, forecasting, and other evidence to strategic decision-making, with the ability to identify emerging needs, evaluate options, and improve organizational and student outcomes.
- Communication and relationship-building skills that support collaboration and influence across organizational boundaries, including the ability to listen, facilitate, present, build trust, and exercise sound judgment in complex environments.
- A leadership approach grounded in collaboration, transparency, and student-centered service, with a commitment to educational opportunity, institutional excellence, student achievement, public service, and NC State's land-grant mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned doctoral or other terminal degree.
- Breadth across multiple enrollment management functions, including undergraduate admissions, financial aid and scholarships, registration and records, enrollment operations, student services, and student success.
- Experience with a public higher education system or similarly complex policy and governance environment, including system-level planning, accountability, and resource considerations.
- A history of building partnerships with community colleges, public education systems, government agencies, and other external organizations to strengthen educational pathways and expand opportunity.
- Proficiency with enrollment forecasting, predictive analytics, scenario planning, or advanced enrollment technologies to inform strategy, planning, and institutional decision-making.
- Professional leadership and engagement at the state, regional, or national level, including contributions to the broader field of enrollment management or higher education.
