Pay Range: $30.32-$39.62 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Supervise Police Officers and other assigned Police personnel in the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Police department. Responsible for the enforcement of rules, regulations, and state and local laws, as well as the security of JCCC’s campus.
Required Qualifications:
- First-level manager.
- Manages the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors.
- Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
- Broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Requires Associate's degree and certification as Kansas-commissioned Police Officer.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. Citizen.
- Must qualify and certify with firearms, ASP baton, CPR, AED, First Aid and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray.
- Must obtain NIMS and ICS training certificates.
- Minimum of three years of police experience required.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and manage Police personnel. Review employee performance and goal achievement through documentation and performance evaluations.
- Provide guidance, training, coaching, conflict resolution, mentorship, and discipline as needed in day-to-day police operations.
- Research, recommend, and implement crime prevention programs and policies in efforts to increase safety and security across the JCCC campus.
- Train staff on the police policies and procedures that govern daily actions, communicating updates as they occur. Ensure all standard operating procedures, rules, and standards are followed.
- Exercise fiscal responsibility in resource allocation and budget adherence.
- Plan, coordinate, schedule, and manage police personnel resources to meet the staffing needs of daily police, safety, and security operations.
- Represent law enforcement on college-wide committees, initiatives, and task forces. Build relationships and partner with local, state, and federal partners, JCCC staff, and community stakeholders on shared crime prevention and awareness initiatives. Discuss ongoing issues and best practices in public safety and crime prevention. Collaborate with the Clery Act Officer, Title IX team, Clery Act team, and Emergency Preparedness Manager on various campus compliance and emergency response issues and programs. Maintain positive relations with the college community and display a courteous and professional manner that instills trust and respect.
- Review and approve officer reports regarding accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities. Address any areas for corrections or improvement.
- Conduct and complete internal investigations into complaints received against subordinates. Gather factual evidence to determine the validity of the complaint and make recommendations for or against discipline. Ensure procedural guarantees for law enforcement are upheld anytime an Officer faces punitive action, termination, transfer, suspension, etc.
- Perform the duties of uniformed Officers as required by law and college policy, stepping in to meet college needs during any given shift. Patrol and respond to calls for service, as needed. Warn, issue summons, or make arrests for violations of state laws, local ordinances, or JCCC rules and regulations.
- Ensure all mandates and law enforcement rules and regulations are followed across the JCCC campus. This includes enforcement of criminal statutes with full arrest authority, parking and traffic enforcement, crime prevention, patrol activity, accident investigation, resolution of domestic and other disturbances, prosecution support, non-criminal public safety services, and enforcement of college policies, rules, and regulations.
- Research and share knowledge of new and innovative law enforcement techniques and ideas to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Remain knowledgeable of changes or updates to laws and regulations that affect the community.
