Under general supervision, works according to detailed procedures in cleaning and custodial duties, and may assist in other maintenance duties.

General Description

In the Facilities Management Department, we take pride in our buildings and grounds and provide a welcoming, service-orientated, clean and safe environment for our students, faculty and staff. Under general supervision, performs labour maintenance functions on grounds.

Typical Duties:

• Trims, cuts and waters grass; maintains all soft landscaping. This includes activities such as watering, weeding, cultivating, fertilizing, pruning, etc.;
• Rakes leaves, lays sod;
• Prepares ground for planting; plants flowers, shrubs and trees;
• Works on campus cleaning details;
• Removes graffiti and posters from campus property;
• Works on snow and ice removal;
• Other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Completion of grade 12 or equivalent.

Experience: One year of related work experience is preferred.

Other: Physical ability to perform laborious outdoor work, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written), works under all weather conditions. Must possess a valid provincial class "G" driver's license.
