Sessional Assistant Professor in Diet and Nutrition for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
The School of Kinesiology and Health Science and School of Global Health in the Faculty of Health at York University invites highly qualified applicants for a Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream position in Diet and Nutrition for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. This is a Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) for a 3-year term commencing July 1, 2026.
The study of diet, dietary patterns, and nutritional science is increasingly important. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses related to diet and nutrition, and develop experiential education to enhance teaching.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Degree: PhD completed by July 1, 2026, in Kinesiology, Health Science, Nutritional Science, Public Health, Global Health, Population Health, or a related field.
- Teaching: Ability to teach in areas such as dietary patterns, food policy, public health strategies, nutrition knowledge translation, health disparities, food insecurity, and human nutrition. A record of excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and experiential education is required or preferred. Suitability for graduate teaching is needed.
- Additional: Experience in public or private sectors related to diet and nutrition is an asset.
