Sessional Lecturer in Organic Chemistry I
NYU Sydney is seeking a lecturer to teach the course 'Organic Chemistry I' to undergraduate students during the NYU semester of August-November 2026. Class is tentatively scheduled to meet twice a week with lectures and recitations tentatively scheduled on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11am-1pm and laboratory classes on Thursdays 6-10pm, though final schedules will be discussed with the chosen candidate.
This course is offered as a two part, two semester sequence, mainly for science majors and students on the pre-medical school track. As such, the curriculum is highly structured and set by the home department in NY.
Responsibilities of the instructor include preparing and leading the weekly class sessions, recitations and laboratory classes as well as course coordination, writing assignments, and grading. Lecturers are paid at competitive casual academic rates aligned with local enterprise agreements. In addition to their teaching duties, they will be paid to attend periodic meetings and training, including an induction meeting during the orientation week prior to the start of the semester.
Classes take place at the University of Sydney's Camperdown/Darlington Campus.
