Position Description
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health Professions at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in the Doctor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences (ScD RS) program to begin January 2026. The primary role of the appointment is course instructor. Instructor responsibilities will include developing and maintaining course content, grading assignments and instruction, and supporting contact sessions in Lubbock, Texas. The adjunct faculty member may work collaboratively with faculty from the Master of Athletic Training (MAT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTDP), and Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Science (PhD) within the department as well as with other departments within the School and University. The successful candidate will join one of the oldest programs of its kind. It is a blended post-professional terminal degree program for licensed athletic trainers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who seek advanced clinical knowledge and skills. The Sc.D. is clinically focused instead of profession focused. This degree builds on shared knowledge and encourages new interprofessional paradigms.
Major/Essential Functions
- Teach courses in the Doctor of Science program and potentially in other programs in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. This will include the responsibility to travel to Lubbock, Texas, to provide face-to-face instruction and course instruction.
- Demonstrate a commitment to building a diverse scholarly environment specific to the field of rehabilitation sciences.
- Collaborate with program faculty and staff to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of the program curriculum and educational experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master Strength and Conditioning Coach certification by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) OR Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with Distinction by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or greater.
- A minimum of 15 years’ strength and conditioning experience working with college or professional athletes.
- Strength and Conditioning Coach certification by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) OR the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or greater.
