Shuttle Driver
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW & POSITION SUMMARY:
The Driver's primary responsibility is to safely transport passengers following a designated route with specific times. including picking up passengers and transporting them from their office location to the parking lot or vice versa. Arrive at collection points prior to departure times. Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanour at all times and ensure adherence to passenger limits. Perform minor preventative maintenance to vehicles; maintain records and prepare reports on such matters as vehicle use and mileage; load and unload materials, equipment and supplies; and perform related work as required.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Campus Maintenance and Trades Operations
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
SALARY: Grade 10, Step 1 - $1,706.74 bi-weekly, Annual Salary: $44,375.24
HOURS: Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Position is governed by the AFSCME college bargaining agreement
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Operates motor trucks to pick up, transport and deliver passengers, materials and equipment to designated locations.
- Operates light motor vehicles to transport passengers or materials to designated locations.
- Performs minor preventative maintenance to motor vehicles such as checking tire pressure and battery, oil, gas and water levels and corrects minor deficiencies.
- Maintains records and prepares reports on such matters as vehicle use, mileage, destinations, accidents, etc.
- Loads and unloads materials, furniture, equipment and supplies.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction, with a positive and guest-focused attitude.
- Maintains safety standards at all times while transporting passengers.
- Performs related duties such as contacting appropriate individuals for motor vehicle maintenance and/or repair and distributing supplies and equipment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current and valid Massachusetts Class 1 Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
