Shuttle Operator Supervisor, Transportation & Parking Services
To oversee the daily operations, supervising and supporting shuttle operators, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, coordinating service delivery, and providing direct operational support to ensure safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services for the Mount Community.
Work Location: Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles) and Chalon Campus (West Los Angeles)

Position Hourly Rate Range: $26.00 - $29.00
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate a team of drivers.
- Operate shuttles and other MSMU vehicles safely, courteously, and efficiently while complying with all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and University policies.
- Check deployment hours and drivers' schedule, provide field supervision as required, furnish advice, assistance, and directions regarding situations that might arise as a result of shuttle operations.
- Assist with the driver training, coaching, and guidance of shuttle operators and provide recommendations regarding performance, safety, and service delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate operators' field activities and skill levels.
- Monitor route completion and equipment through field inspections, investigate and report any schedule and route difficulties or problems. Recommend changes as necessary.
- Document and report driver complaints, incidents, safety concerns, policy violations, and risky driving behaviors to management.
- Conduct field observations, ride-alongs, and operational audits to ensure compliance with departmental procedures and service standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the shuttle operators, management, dispatch, and Mount Community members regarding transportation services and operational concerns.
- Re-route vehicles, adjust service schedules, and provide route coverage as necessary to maintain service continuity during incidents, emergencies, staffing shortages, or changing operational conditions.
- Assist in the preparation of contingency plans for unexpected weather and route conditions, equipment failure, operator illness, call off, and/or similar occurrences.
- Prepare reports, maintain operational and administrative records, process transportation requests, and perform data entry related to departmental activities.
- Administer and enforce uniform policies and grooming standards for shuttle operators.
- Ability to perform and maintain proficiency in all essential duties, responsibilities, and qualifications of the Shuttle Operator position, including operating University vehicles and providing route coverage as needed.
- Maintain the organization, cleanliness, inventory, and operational readiness of the transportation corral and related facilities.
- Utilize mobile devices, tablets, and transportation software to manage reservations, access route information, communicate with Dispatch, and navigate University systems.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily reports, inspection forms, mileage logs, fueling records, and other required documentation.
- Fuel and service assigned gasoline or CNG vehicles as required.
- Transport vehicles for maintenance, repairs, inspections, fueling, cleaning, or other assigned operational needs.
- Assist with special requests, emergency transportation operations, and charter transportation services as needed.
- Maintain all required licenses, endorsements, certifications, and training necessary to perform job duties.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, professionalism, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
- Represent Transportation & Parking Services at campus events, planning meetings, tabletop exercises, emergency preparedness activities, and operational planning sessions.
- Perform assigned shuttle routes, charter transportation requests, and other driving assignments as needed to support departmental operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work weekends and adapt to varying schedules.
- Perform other job-related duties and special assignments as directed by management.
- Assist with University events, emergency transportation operations, training activities, and service disruptions as needed.
- Participate in required meetings, training programs, safety briefings, and professional development activities.
