Job Summary/Basic Function
Under general direction and in accordance with broad operating policies and procedures, uses independent judgement to design, fabricate and maintain an efficient scheduling of signage projection jobs.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent, and four years of (FT) related work experience OR, two years of post-secondary education and two years (FT) related work experience OR, a bachelor's degree in related field with one year (FT) related work experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to calculate basic math. Good public relations and interpersonal skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Essential Functions and percent of time
Directs and schedules the work activities necessary for the efficient and timely design, production and installation of custom made signage. 30%
Designs, fabricates and places temporary outdoor wayfinding signage all across campus for many specialized events. 25%
Maintain inventories and orders supplies. 5%
Gather production information and prepares statistical reports for management. 5%
Provides training, leadership and assistance to the overall operations of the Sign Shop. 5%
Resolves scheduling problems and implements changes when necessary. 5%
Maintains awareness of current industry technology and methodology and advises others on technical issues. 5%
Provides customer with material samples and estimates. 5%
Detailed knowledge and enforcement of WSU sign standards. Works with Communications and Marketing; campus customers; Engineering, Planning and design architects on sign design and installation. 5%
Works with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software. 5%
Utilizes highly technical computerized sign development equipment. 5%

Working Conditions
Computerized production environment. Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 65 pounds), high climbing, bending, handling equipment and materials.May work varied hours to include evenings and weekends during peak periods.This is primarily a 1st shift position, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
