Position Description

The Simulation Program Coordinator for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Clinical Practice lab, reports to the Director of Simulation and Innovation. This individual leads the integration of simulation pedagogy into the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. The coordinator partners with faculty, simulation staff, and campus collaborators to design, implement, and evaluate simulation-based learning. The role emphasizes curriculum development, faculty coaching, and adherence to simulation best practices. In addition, the coordinator teaches in simulation-based learning experiences including skills labs, immersive scenarios, and standardized patient encounters.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Integration & Program Development (45%)

  • Design, refine, and maintain simulation scenarios, facilitator guides, and resources.
  • Map simulation activities across curriculum to support competencies.
  • Lead adoption of INACSL and HCSSOBP standards in simulation design.
  • Contribute to fidelity enhancements (moulage, EMR charts, manikin modifications).

Faculty Support & Development (20%)

  • Train and mentor faculty in simulation facilitation and debriefing.
  • Develop resources for scenario writing and faculty orientation.
  • Assist in preparing materials aligned with accreditation standards.

Simulation Instruction & Student Engagement (20%)

  • Facilitate pre-briefs, simulations, debriefings, and skills labs.
  • Assist in standardized patient based OSCEs and immersive scenarios.
  • Assess student performance using reflective practice and rubrics.

Program Evaluation & Innovation (10%)

  • Collect and analyze student and faculty feedback to improve programming.
  • Contribute to pilot testing of instructional technologies.
  • Implement program improvements as directed by the Director.

Service & Collaboration (5%)

  • Serve on committees and contribute to faculty governance.
  • Collaborate on interprofessional simulation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's preferred).
  • Active RN licensure in Washington State.
  • Experience in simulation-based education.
  • Strong communication and inclusive teaching practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Education, or related health field.
  • CHSE certification.
  • Experience with curriculum integration and faculty coaching.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and simulation platforms.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $78,000 - $80,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. Seattle University provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your total compensation package.
