Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Provides support to the WellStar School of Nursing and educational programs by overseeing simulation technology, operating and maintaining medical simulation equipment and software, and assisting faculty in conducting simulations. Collaborates with administrators, faculty, and students to ensure that simulation activities align with learning objectives and adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares programs and operates a variety of medical simulation equipment, offering technical support and guidance before, during, and after simulation sessions
- Performs routine maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure all simulation equipment functions at peak performance
- Coordinates and facilitates simulation-based training sessions, supporting both faculty and student assistants in the effective use of simulation tools
- Collaborates closely with the simulation coordinator and faculty to align simulation activities with defined learning objectives
- Collects and records data from simulation sessions to support evaluation and feedback processes
- Ensures that all simulation activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Oversees simulation inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining equipment and supplies
- Liaises with vendors and internal departments to support seamless simulation operations
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Required Experience
Two (2) years of experience in simulation based education, health care and/or biomedical engineering and/or information technology services
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Health Care Simulation Operations Specialist Certification (CHSOS)
Knowledge of patient simulation technologies (software and hardware) preferred
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
- Able to learn new software and hardware
- Able to assess, troubleshoot and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion
- Able to work with internal and external individuals from different levels of training
- Able to learn and become proficient with new software and hardware
- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of patient simulation technologies (software and hardware) ,including installation, maintenance, and operating system proficiency, particularly Laerdal 3G/LEAP and Gaumard/UNI
- Knowledge of audiovisual equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing and editing
- Knowledge of principles of electronics, audio-video components, computers, and peripheral devices
SKILLS
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Internet, database applications, and Mac O/S)
- Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
