Simulation Technician
Under the supervision of the Director of Simulation, the Simulation Technician collaborates with faculty, staff, and learners to provide administrative and technical support for simulation activities. This role supports high-quality simulation-based education in accordance with the INACSL Standards of Best Practice. Job Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support simulation activities that embrace diversity and are inclusive of students from a wide range of social identities and backgrounds.
- Apply the INACSL Standards of Best Practice in the implementation of assigned simulation activities.
- Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot instructional healthcare equipment, low- and high-fidelity manikins, and audiovisual systems. Training opportunities available.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment within the Simulation Center.
- Create costuming and moulage as indicated for simulations.
- Portray the role of a patient, family member, or other participant during simulations.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly simulation rooms.

- Demonstrate attention to detail with the ability to complete projects on time.

Required Education and Experience
Education
- Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited institution.
Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and OneNote.
- Proficiency in medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience in healthcare simulation or employment in a healthcare setting
- Certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
- Frequent interaction with students, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while performing tasks.
- Ability to move between classrooms, offices, and meeting spaces.
- Sufficient visual and auditory ability to monitor simulation environments and respond to participant needs.

- This is a 100% on-campus position.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
- Work is performed in a classroom, laboratory, or office environment.
- Must adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
- Occasional travel between campus buildings or community locations.
