VCU School of Nursing invites applicants to apply for the position of Simulation Technician. The Simulation Technician will coordinate the activities of the Clinical Learning Center in order to support simulation experiences in the SON.
Responsibilities Include:
- Consults with CLC Director or Assistant Director to identify level of simulation support needed for planned CLC events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with simulation technology, computers, or medical equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues and applying problem-solving skills to resolve them.
- Experience with event planning, coordination, or production.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Previous simulation and/or IT experience
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHOS) certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor Certification, or willingness to obtain
- Working knowledge of simulation technology and hands-on experience working in a simulation environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of simulator software.
- Familiar with the operation and troubleshooting of all simulation and skills lab equipment, including but not limited to manikins, laptops, PYXIS, ophthalmoscopes, otoscopes, IV pumps, vital sign machines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students to provide technical support in computer system operations and technology.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience starting at $60,000
