Site Coordinator - Girard Jr. Sr. High
Oversees daily operations of the grant program in accordance with ODE grant goals and objectives. Ensures a positive learning environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Follows recommendations and directives of the leadership. Follows recommendations and directives as stated in the grant. Oversees daily operations of the summer program. Oversees lessons and activities; maintains student and staff files; completes necessary paperwork. Provides a safe, disciplined learning community for all students, staff, families, and program providers. Plans and organizes program requirements such as field trips, family events, guest speakers, and take-home bags. Reviews and gathers attendance, grades, achievement scores, suspension/expulsion records, and any other state-required data for participating students. Supervises staff ensuring coverage of students and meeting program requirements; approves time sheets, completes necessary paperwork and plans for required staff training. Prepares and maintains necessary documentation for snack/meal agencies. Communicates with district bus garages regarding student information. Meets weekly with Girard Administration and guidance counselors to recruit new students to program and provide program updates. Meets with constituents to review program strengths and weaknesses; collects necessary academic data for evaluation. Registers and maintains current roster of information on participating students. Serves as mentor and advocate for students. Attends mandatory state and regional conferences, training and/or meetings. Communicates with all stakeholders, school district administration and/or personnel. Attends appropriate school building meeting and/or school district meetings. Works to meet the targets proposed in the grant within the prescribed deadlines. Works with colleagues, parents, and program providers to meet the students' individual needs. Assists in promoting positive communication and successes of the project. Follows guidelines and regulations of grant. Assists with planning, preparation, and communication activities for the program. Conducts staff meetings. Collaborates with staff to remove all barriers to program success.
Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires. Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.
Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.
Work Schedule: M-T-W-Th 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Girard Jr. Sr. building; Fridays on YSU Campus.
Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over staff.
Reports to: Associate Director
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: CPR/AED and First Aid upon hire; Child Abuse Certification that satisfies mandated reporting requirement upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: educational standards and instructional strategies, Every Student Succeeds Act; the social and emotional learning needs of children and overall wellness needs of children for academic issues. Ability to: promote positive communication and think creatively, as well as make corrections or take corrective action to maintain the integrity of the project, in accordance with project goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor's degree; three or more years of educational program planning experience; experience working with economically disadvantaged students; and experience using multiple virtual platforms to instruct students.
Preferred Qualifications: Teacher's license. Experience with afterschool programs. Understanding of education and literacy needs of students.
