Site Director, MTC Hospitalist Service

Job Description

The Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking an additional internal medicine physician to join our expanding programs in General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus and serve as site director for the hospitalist service at that location.

The Site Director will be responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the Hospitalist Program, including oversight of 15 hospitalist physicians and 5 advanced practice clinicians. Other key administrative responsibilities include resolving clinical and operational issues, developing protocols and procedures, advising the program in recruitment and retention, and guiding the program in meeting specified quality/safety and utilization metrics. This position will also be expected to serve as a physician advisor to hospital leadership. Clinical service will be expected on both our teaching and non-teaching services.

Expected faculty rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $131,500 (min) and $286,330 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation programor pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs.Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical and organizational skills, and a strong commitment to quality patient care. All candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.
