Primary Duties
Under the direction of the Marketing Staff, provide promotional & marketing support via Social Media for the Campus Services Marketing Department (Housing & Food Services, Campus Recreation, MainStreet Operations & Programming, the Bearcat Card, UC Bookstores, other campus auxiliaries and student groups).
The student worker will serve as a social media specialist with responsibilities for our social media accounts. The position duties will include:
- Content management and design management for graphic posts
- Interviewing other students on MainStreet for TikTok’s and reels
- Staring in our Instagram reels and TikTok videos.
- Editing TikTok’s and Reels for posting
- Coming up with social media campaign ideas.
- Posting on our Instagram account, including: carousel posts, stories, and reels.
- Helping with tasks for campaigns which may include tabling on MainStreet, creating polls/surveys, creating button pins, magnets, keychains, etc.
The student worker will also provide content generation, general proofing and editing, edit websites in the faculty/staff intranet, Bearcats Landing, as well as the Adobe Experience Manager, and create forms for internal and website use.
Under the direction of the Campus Services’ Marketing Staff, this paid student position will provide social media/marketing support for the Campus Services Departments. This department supports the marketing efforts of Housing, Food Services, Campus Recreation, Parking Services, Conference & Events Services, Printing & Duplicating, the Bearcat Card, UC Bookstores/Retail, other campus auxiliaries, such as PNC Bank and Pepsi, as well as student groups.
The opportunity exists for candidates to continue to work for Campus Services Marketing during academic semesters, when not on co-op/ internship, until graduation.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
- Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- “Enrollment” shall include: The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled. The one “off” term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
- Must be proficient in Instagram, TikTok, & Microsoft Office and systems management.
- Must be outgoing and have good interviewing skills.
