Are you a highly skilled and strategic Social Media and Video Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? Join our dynamic team to lead Curtin’s social strategy and video production across established and emerging platforms; driving measurable growth in brand visibility, engagement and student acquisition.
You’ll combine audience insight, creative leadership and performance discipline to deliver social and video content that drives recruitment growth, builds brand authority and strengthens Curtin’s market position.
In this role, you will work closely with the Deputy Director Brand Marketing and wider University Marketing leadership team to ensure all activity delivered aligns to the objectives of the University Marketing strategy in a highly competitive environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Curtin Social Media Strategy
- Deliver social media content aligning with brand strategy and acquisition and conversion activities across the University Marketing social media channels
- Work with other teams in University Marketing to ensure social media is optimised across the full customer journey – from awareness through to enrolment – driving measurable improvements in reach, engagement, conversion contribution and channel performance.
- Manage a video production team who are responsible for producing marketing and corporate videos, as well as two social media coordinators who are responsible for social media content creation and community management
- Analyse the metrics of campaigns and industry trends and always be looking to optimise performance on a regular basis, fully embracing a test and learn mindset
- Work collaboratively with all other teams to achieve shared KPIs, prioritise workload and instil a positive team culture
- Monitor and respond to emerging platform trends and shifts in digital and AI-influenced discovery to ensure Curtin maintains a contemporary, competitive and future-ready social presence
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
- Completion of a relevant degree or an equivalent combination of relevant Digital Marketing and Social Media Platform experience and/or education/training
- Proven experience leading, managing and developing high-performing creative and social media teams
- Demonstrated understanding of a range of social media platforms and Digital Marketing activities, particularly in relation to brand, lead generation and conversion
- Demonstrated extensive working experience and monitoring of a variety of social media channels, including social listening and incident communications
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing large scale social media campaigns including social media publishing platforms and analytics tools
- Demonstrated experience in leading video production and/or content production teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across an organisation, developing strong relationships and networks
Experience working in a Tertiary education environment or large and complex organisation in a similar role would be highly regarded.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
