Job Description
Teach courses in the Social Work Department under the Behavioral, Social Sciences and Global Learning Division. Courses include Introduction to Social Work, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Equity and Cultural Wealth in Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy and Practice, and Interviewing and Documentation in Social Work. Courses may be offered at any of the BHCC campuses, satellite campuses, partner sites, or instructional sites, including but not limited to Charlestown, Chelsea,…
PAO Center, and Children's Services of Roxbury (CSR).
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Social Work or related field. Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
- Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
- Must be available to teach at Charlestown, Chelsea, PAO Center, and Children's Services of Roxbury as needed.
- We are seeking faculty to teach one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Social Work, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Equity and Cultural Wealth in Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy and Practice, and Interviewing and Documentation in Social Work.
Preferred Requirements
- License in Social Work preferred.
- Community college teaching experience preferred.
- Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or other languages is preferred.
Additional Information
Salary: $1,512 per credit hour
