Position Overview

The Architecture function provides the Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture capabilities. It is responsible for the implementation of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and policies and the design of solutions that establish new ICT services or modify existing ICT services to meet the current and future needs of the organisation.

You will be joining Massey at just the right time, as we expand our architecture practice. Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
- Provide architecture and design guidance and the integration of solutions.
- Evaluate the needs of the University and determine the appropriate technical solutions.
- Lead the development of architectural solutions across a variety of IT areas.
- Work with stakeholders to assess requirements for new and improved technology solutions they will propose, design and implement solutions that fit the technology roadmap.
- Actively research current and emerging technologies and propose changes to the technology roadmap where needed.
- In collaboration with your peers in the Architecture practice, develop and maintain reference architectures, principles, standards and guidelines.
- Build strong and enduring working relationships within ITS and with university business stakeholders.
Ko koe tēnei | Who You Are
- A tertiary qualification in an IT or Business Management subject, or equivalent extensive industry experience.
- Industry recognised certification in IT Architecture at a practitioner or manager level would be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years experience in an IT or IT-related position, with deep background in solutions design and architecture.
- Experience in designing and delivering on premise and cloud technologies.
- Experience in implementing environments to support systems and software engineering practices.
- Experience in working with stakeholders to scope and develop solutions that meet organisational requirements.
- Demonstrable familiarity with current strategic issues facing IT departments (preferably in a University or NZ government context).

This is a full-time position. Many of the IT Services teams and business stakeholders are based on our Palmerston North campus, which is the preferred location for this role. Consideration may be given for the right candidate to be based at our Wellington Campus, however regular travel to Palmerston North will be required. Appointment will be commensurate of skills and experience within the $130 - $170K range.
