Job Description
The Basic Needs Special Projects Coordinator performs a variety of technical, program support, case management, and clerical duties in support of the Hornet Resource Center.
Develops partnerships on- and off-campus, to ensure students have access to community-based services. Identifies and links students to basic needs services and resources such as housing, food, clothing, technology, mental health services.
Ensures students receive support in accessing CalFresh and other public benefits for which they may be eligible.
Compiles data, prepares and maintains records, reports, lists and files related to the Hornet Resource Center basic needs program. Assists with compliance and proper application of applicable policies, procedures, and laws in relation to the Hornet Resource Center.
Coordinates, plans, develops, and conducts presentations and workshops relating to basic needs services and resources. Attends activities and events on or off campus as a representative of the college in relation to its basic needs program area.
Monitors the program budget and makes recommendations regarding allocation of resources and expenditure of funds.
Performs other duties related to the primary job duties.
Work Hours:
Must be available for the following working hours:
Monday through Thursday - 10 am to 7 pm; Friday - 8 am to 5 pm (Schedule and shifts are subject to change in accordance to department needs)
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree with coursework in a related discipline; AND
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a student services/support functional area.
- Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required equivalent qualifications of the position.

Desirable Qualifications
- Possess an advanced degree from a regionally accredited institution in Counseling, Social Work, Social Sciences, Human Services or discipline related to the assignment.
- Experience working in a lead role within a student services/support functional area.
- Ensures that all interactions and operations within the assigned area promote inclusivity and equity.
Salary Range: Special Projects Coordinator: $271/day
