Job Summary:
Responsible for processing vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursement requests, and related payments. Acts as customer service contact for vendors and employees.
Essential Functions:
- Accumulates, matches, and safeguards documentation necessary for the timely and accurate processing of invoices, employee expense reimbursement requests, and all related payments.
- Ensures that accounts payable are paid in accordance with College goals and priorities (e.g., in agreement with vendor terms to maximize cash reserves).
- Ensures that payments are made using the method most advantageous to the College (e.g., check, ACH transfer, wire transfer, credit card).
- Prepares journal entries for accounts payable transactions, as required.
- Maintains and reviews account payable records and reconciliations.
- Assists with cash management functions.
- Coordinates general ledger activities with other accountants.
- Ensures proper accounting-period cut-off is achieved at month and year end.
- Prepares and sends annual Forms 1099 to vendors.
- Lead and manage the development and implementation of all related internal technology integrations as well as vendor provided solutions.
- Develops and maintains training materials for use by departmental and other personnel with access to accounts payable records.
- To provide the best service to our external and internal customers, all positions at Lake Michigan College require regular and predicable on-site attendance as an essential job functions. - Prepares paperwork for audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities:
Job Specifications:
Associate degree required, with courses in accounting preferred. Two or more years of office experience required. Proficiency in ERP systems and spreadsheets required.

Grade:
Salary Range: $17.88 - $21.25
