Work Hours: Monday - Wednesday 4:00pm - 9:00pm, Thursday 4:30pm - 9:00pm; Flexibility is required as the schedule is subject to change based on department needs.
Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work
Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week
Job Summary
This role is responsible for providing circulation support services within the campus library.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements: Performs library work of a moderately complex nature. Provides circulation services including organization of library materials. Maintains circulation records and prepares reports as necessary. Organizes reserve items. Answers moderately complex questions, refers questions to a librarian, when appropriate. Locates materials including databases and electronic resources for students and faculty. Provides check in and checkout services as well as properly shelving library materials. Effectively uses an automated circulation system. Develops an extensive working knowledge of library services, policies and practices; and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures. Communicates library services, policies and practices to students, faculty and staff. Performs advanced library operational skills. Manages technical matters and human relations issues. Maintains operational reports and makes reports as requested.
Service Excellence: Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite. Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC). Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College.
Supervision: Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leadership.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or sixty (60) college hours completed and one (1) year's working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or equivalent combination of education and working experience
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one (1) year's working experience at a college/university related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- At least one (1) year's working experience providing frontline customer service
