Speech Language Pathologist
The Staff Speech Language Pathologist role will support patients in both Head and Neck Surgical Oncology (HN) and the Voice and Swallowing Center (VSC).
The Staff Speech Language Pathologist, Speech Pathologist 2, reports to the Rehab Service Manager and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Staff Speech Language Pathologist 2 works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric and adolescent patients may also be treated.
Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Staff Speech Language Pathologist 2 plans and administers a full range of speech therapy services for patients with a variety of voice, swallowing, and upper airway impairments and disabilities. Services include patient evaluations using speech language pathology tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech language pathology scope of practice. The Staff Speech Pathologist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties, the Staff Speech Language Pathologist 2 may also supervise support personnel, student interns and Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellows. The Staff Speech Language Pathologist 2 actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and in-services and staff development activities.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
