Sports Science Laboratory Technician (0.75fte)
We are currently recruiting for a Sports Science Laboratory Technician to support the Faculty of Health, Science and Engineering with particular focus on Biomechanics as well as Sports Performance Analysis, Strength and Conditioning and Sports Therapy. The post holder will maintain laboratory facilities and equipment as well as demonstrate the use of equipment to staff and students whilst also undertaking a part time PhD. The post holder will be required to carry out duties across all degree schemes and work in multiple laboratories.
You will hold a MSc or equivalent in Sport or Exercise Science or a related area and demonstrate knowledge of Biomechanical equipment, such as EMG/motion capture and force analysis. You will have experience of working in a laboratory or academic environment and will have an exercise, environmental or human physiology and/or a life science background. A high level of organisational and communication skills are essential for the role.
This post is offered with a 0.25 fte PhD bursary with part time fee waiver.
The Faculty has a strong research environment and has achieved excellent results in the most recent Research Excellence Framework with 83% of research rated internationally excellent or world leading. We have over 17 full-time members of staff qualified to supervise doctoral research across various topics within sport and physical activity (with particular research strengths and interests in Occupational Performance, Developing Sporting Performance, Health and Well-Being and Equality and Inclusion).
