Job Title: SQF-QC Supervisor

Position Summary
The SQF-QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Quality Control and food safety programs to ensure products are manufactured in compliance with company standards, customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and the SQF Code. This position supervises QC activities, monitors production processes, supports the SQF system, and leads corrective and preventive actions to maintain product safety, quality, legality, and compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
Quality Control & Food Safety
- Supervise daily Quality Control activities and ensure established procedures are consistently followed.
- Monitor production processes, raw materials, finished products, and environmental conditions for compliance with specifications.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of HACCP, GMP, allergen control, sanitation, and other food safety programs.
- Ensure required quality and food safety inspections, testing, and monitoring are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Review QC records, production documentation, and monitoring logs for completeness and accuracy.
- Identify product quality or food safety issues and ensure appropriate containment and disposition of affected product.
- Support the development, implementation, and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
SQF
- Assist with preparation for SQF certification audits, customer audits, regulatory inspections, and internal audits.
- Conduct or participate in internal audits, GMP inspections, and food safety verification activities.
- Maintain required SQF documentation and records.
- Ensure employees are trained and follow applicable SQF, food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in investigating non-conformances and implementing effective corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, food safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Analyze trends in defects, deviations, customer complaints, environmental monitoring, and other quality data.
- Work with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to resolve recurring issues.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
MUST BE BILINGUAL (ENG-SPA)
· Minimum of 2 yrs of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, food safety, microbiology, or a related environment preferred.
· Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of SQF requirements and HACCP principles.
· Knowledge of GMPs, allergen control, sanitation, environmental monitoring, and food safety practices.
· HACCP certification/training required or willingness to obtain.
· SQF Practitioner training or experience preferred.
· Strong understanding of applicable FDA, USDA, or other regulatory requirements relevant to the facility.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work around production equipment, noise, dust, odors, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow facility safety requirements.
- Ability to lift and carry samples, supplies, or materials as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or different shifts, when required by production needs.
