Our work supports education, research, healthcare, and community impact across the state and beyond.

To further this mission, the University of Oklahoma is seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to serve as a key leader in the delivery of capital improvement projects and major renovations. This position represents the University throughout all phases of design and construction, ensuring projects meet University standards for quality, safety, budget, and schedule. The Senior Capital Project Manager plays a vital role in translating University needs into successful built environments that will serve generations to come.

What You Will Do

As the Senior Capital Project Manager, you will:

  • Represent the University of Oklahoma during all phases of design, programming, and construction for both major and minor capital improvement projects.
  • Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure compliance with University standards and requirements.
  • Manage capital projects through coordination and communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including users, consultants, contractors, University administration, and internal departments.
  • Translate project requirements into architectural and engineering design programs.
  • Provide on-site construction administration, including participation in regular progress and special meetings, and monitor contractor work for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Perform in-office construction administration by advising contractors, project architects/engineers, and University officials regarding project quality, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information and other project inquiries.
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to University leadership and external partners, including vendors, consultants, and contractors.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, including reviewing and approving project expenditures.
  • Oversee construction procedures and conduct formal bid openings.
  • Coordinate project activities with local, state, and federal agencies involved in the University's construction program.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to ensure successful project delivery and overall departmental goals.
