The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist will perform all duties and tasks under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist may be assigned to the following shifts: 6:30 AM-7:00 PM; 9:00 AM-9:30 PM; 11:00 AM; 11:30 PM, including weekends and holidays and to various ORs and specialties including OB as needed. Worksite location will be both the Orange and Irvine campuses.
Under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, perform safe anesthesia care, consisting of the following: pre-operative assessment, writing of appropriate pre-op orders as specified by approved standard procedure, administration of all types of anesthetic and techniques, patient monitoring intra-operatively, provides for safe intra-op course and emergence and assists as necessary in post-operative care.
- ACLS Certification
- AANA Certification
- California RN and Nurse Anesthetist License
- Shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, call and holidays
- Knowledge of current nursing, anesthesia and critical care techniques as evidenced by the following: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Graduation from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia
- Valid California Registered Nurse license
- Valid California Nurse Anesthetist license
- Current certification by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification by the American Heart Association
Skill in performing pre-operative assessment of surgical patients, including: Identification of pre-existing disease entities and their potential impact upon anesthesia care and plan through documentation of past medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, ECG and chest X-ray
Understanding interactions of pre-operative drug therapy with proposed anesthetic plan and agents for all age groups Identification of abnormalities on physical examination which pose potential problems in anesthesia management
Ability to perform selected educational supervisory and administrative tasks, including supervision of student anesthetists when assigned, and assessment of orientation and progress
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Graduation from ab accredited school of nurse anesthesia
- Valid California Nurse Anesthetist license
- Valid California Registered Nurse license
Special Conditions:
- Hours: Shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, call and holidays.
Total Compensation
*External candidates hired into the Sr. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist classification (Job Code 007865) by Dec 31, 2025 are eligible for a $20,000.00 sign-on bonus. Payment terms will be $10,000.00 paid to active employee after completion of six months of employment and the second payment of $10,000.00 will be paid to active employee upon completion of one year employment.
**External candidates relocating to California who are successfully hired into this job posting and meet relocation criteria will be offered up to $5,000.00 in relocation reimbursement.
