"Sr. Electrician"

Position Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sr. Electrician for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).

• Takes the lead in maintaining primary and secondary electrical systems in the facility.
• Installs, tests, repairs and replaces lights and power circuitry, electrical and electronic equipment, alarm systems and electric motors, machinery and appliances.
• Ensures work is done in compliance with local, state and national codes.
• Directs other mechanics and helpers.

Minimum Education and Experience

Technical school diploma or equivalent level of knowledge plus a minimum of five years of progressively more responsible experience as an electrician, at least three (3) years of which shall have involved taking the lead in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs. Office environment: Moderate noise.
