Summary
The Sr. Field Service Representative is responsible for providing advanced technical field service support for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of reciprocating & Centrifugal compressors and related equipment. This position requires a high level of mechanical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to independently diagnose complex equipment issues while working safely and efficiently at customer locations.
The Sr. Field Service Representative serves as a senior technical resource in the field and may provide guidance and direction to other field service personnel. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate technical findings, recommended repairs, and service activities to customers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
· Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, and overhaul activities of reciprocating & Centrifugal compressors and associated equipment.
· Diagnose complex mechanical and equipment performance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
· Perform compressor inspections, measurements, alignments, adjustments, and component replacements in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, blueprints, service procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
· Utilize precision measurement tools and specialized equipment to inspect components and verify tolerances and operating conditions.
· Inspect equipment and components for wear, damage, or nonconformance and accurately document findings.
· Provide technical guidance and field support to Field Service Representatives and other service personnel as needed.
· Serve as a senior technical resource during complex field service assignments and major equipment overhauls.
· Coordinate field activities with customers, supervisors, project personnel, and other departments to support the successful completion of service assignments.
· Communicate equipment conditions, technical findings, repair recommendations, and job status to customers and management in a professional and timely manner.
· Complete service reports, inspection reports, timesheets, expense reports, and other required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
· Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and other assigned assets in proper working condition.
· Follow all company, customer, and site-specific safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate action to maintain a safe working environment.
· Maintain a professional presence while representing the company at customer facilities.
· Work independently with limited supervision and exercise sound technical judgment in field environments.
· Travel to customer locations and remain on assignment as required to meet operational and customer needs.
· Work extended hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as business needs require.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
HSE Essential Functions

· Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection.

Education/ Experience / Languages:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
Vocational, technical school certification, or Associate Degree in a mechanical or related technical discipline preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible field service, compressor maintenance, compressor overhaul, large diesel engine repair, or heavy mechanical experience preferred.
Advanced mechanical knowledge of reciprocating compressors, associated components, and related equipment.
Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and overhaul complex mechanical equipment.
Experience using precision measurement instruments, specialty tools, and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, specifications, and service documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential responsibilities of the position safely and effectively.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable company driving requirements.
Must be able to provide required personal hand tools as directed by Operations Management.

Works overtime as needed. 10–12-hour days are typical.

Stand, walk, climb, perform overhead work with fall protection, use hands to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, sit, talk and hear.
At least 20/40 binocular vision arrested, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to kneel, balance, push, pull, drive, stoop, climb, and crouch.
Perform duties while using respiratory protection such as: SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) in potentially hazardous environments.
APR (air purifying respirator) outfitted with cartridge filters used while painting
