Responsibilities include the following: Counsels patients who are experiencing financial problems which may interrupt treatment. Reviews patients' financial information to see if they meet the qualifications for a lower fee schedule. Answers any questions patients have concerning the fees charged for their treatment. Audits patients' charts as needed. Answers questions students and patients have concerning the patients' insurance coverage. Obtains third party insurance information from patients and verifies eligibility. Scans and enters insurance information in Axium. Helps resolve any issues patients have concerning insurance reimbursement. Reviews patients' treatment plans with students, explains to the students which portion of the treatment has to be paid before the student continues with treatment or sends the case to the lab. Completes all refund requests after reviewing the patients' charts and transaction records to ensure that a refund is in order. Prepares clinical adjustment forms after a review of patients' records and submits them to the Manager of Patient Business Services for processing. Minimum Education and Experience: High School diploma required. A minimum of five (5) years of Patient Accounts experience required.
