Sr. License Practical Nurse

Takes vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure on all patients and documents immediately in the EMR . Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established UBHC guidelines. Performs venipuncture as required. Collects and processes laboratory specimens. Follows National Patient Safety Goals in proper identification of patient before collecting specimens. Minimum Education and Experience: Possession of a valid and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey and three (3) years of relevant experience as an LPN is required. City: Piscataway State: NJ Physical Demands and Work Environment: PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Position requires standing 2/3 of the time, walking to 2/3 of the time, requires sitting 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle or feel 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1/3 of the time, talk or hear over 2/3 of the time. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Functions will be carried out in certain areas, where hospital blood borne and airborne pathogens exposure control plans must be followed.
