Please note: primary work location will be Walnut Creek, but must be able to work in Oakland as needed. 4 days per week, 10 hours per day. Shift could start as early as 6:45 am or until 5:30 pm.

The Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of surgical supplies and equipment, and functions as a key member of the surgical team during operative procedures. In addition to all standard Surgical Technologist responsibilities, the Senior Surgical Technologist serves as a specialty resource--utilizing, troubleshooting, and supporting specialty service equipment and acting as a knowledgeable resource for other Surgical Technologists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Selects and sets up instruments and equipment required for each surgical procedure.
• Functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams.
• Carries out established procedures and performs related duties as required.
• Passes instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon throughout the operation.
• Maintains a sterile environment for the duration of the surgery.
• Demonstrates flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed.
