Staff Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Assistant for our Financial Aid department. Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Staff Assistant will provide a variety of clerical tasks to support the effective and efficient office operations and the overall success of Enrollment Services.

Example of Duties:

• Perform routine office functions including review and processing of incoming and outgoing mail for the office.
• Compile FWS earnings data and draft reports as required.
• Serve as FWS liaison preparing contracts, and weekly input of FWS earnings in Colleague and other technical platforms.
• Process division correspondence through Colleague and other technical platforms.
• Provide registration and financial aid assistance to in-person and telephone students inquiries.
• Manage and prepare department invoices, purchase requisitions, and financial aid publications.
• Answer and respond to financial telephone and email inquiries via financial aid mailboxes (SAP, VOICE, FA) as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be skilled in use of Microsoft Office software programs.
• Ability to work independently, to organize and manage complex projects, and prepare detailed reports.
• Ability to work with people on all levels.
• Interpersonal, including telephone etiquette, and problem-solving skills.
• Written and oral communication skills, including English usage, spelling, punctuation and business vocabulary.
• Ability to organize, schedule and follow directions.
